Ray Kaw Htoo Learning Centre began its existence in 2012. Initially, it was called Teacher Training College (TTC). It uses a curriculum provided from the Bethlehem Tertiary Institute (BTI) in New Zealand.  Creating teachers who are skilled in abilities and understanding and providing hope through education to children that have limited opportunities are its important goals.

The school is open to all people of Myanmar irrespective of their ethnicity or religion. Its program provides Myanmar student teachers with opportunities to learn internationally recognized teaching methods and strategies and then to adapt these skills to their own cultural context in order to create the best learning environments for the children they teach. We hope that student teachers will return to their home villages and communities to contribute to the society, raising the education level of the country.

Since Ray Kaw Htoo is a vocational school, the teacher trainers hold New Zealand education degrees and deliver the program working closely with University management who visit the center at scheduled times throughout the academic year.
